Revised Application for Accreditation Thank you to everyone who submitted comments on the draft application for accreditation released in October. Your comments were very helpful. We have streamlined the application significantly and provided more options for land trusts to choose the documentation that they feel best illustrates how they implement the practices. The revised application is now available. Application Comment Summary We received nearly 100 comments on the draft application. We reviewed all comments and used them to help revise the application. A summary of the comments and the Commission’s responses, along with the full set of comments received via the web survey, is now on our website. New Applicant Handbook Available If your organization wants to prepare for accreditation, the Applicant Handbook for the pilot program is a must-read. The new Handbook accompanies the application for accreditation and is a comprehensive guide to the accreditation process. The Handbook includes information on eligibility and readiness, tips for getting started, how to complete the application, what to expect once an organization has applied, and Commission policies and procedures. We will update and augment the Handbook with information we learn from the pilot program. Download the Applicant Handbook. Pilot Program Information Coming Soon We had a great response last fall from organizations interested in the pilot program. We are in the process of inviting organizations to participate and will have more details available soon. Pilot invitees were selected by the Commission to represent a broad spectrum of land trusts.
